日本の金融街・日本橋兜町エリア。再開発により感度の高い街へと変化するこの場所に対し、誰もが自由に過ごせる街にひらけたパブリックスペースを提案した。人々がエネルギーを蓄え、共有し、分け合うことで生まれる新しい兜町の風景を思いき、”Stock Share Scape”をコンセプトにデザインした。
思わず立ち寄りたくなる路地裏をイメージし、アクセントカラーのイエローで通りを賑やかに彩った。可変性のあるベンチとサイドテーブルを設け、利用者にワンアクションしてもらう仕掛けをつくることで親しみを生み、常に風景が移り変わる空間となる。
名称「ki-ten」の提案、ロゴデザインも手掛け、空間全体のプロデュースを行った。
カフェやギャラリーなど多様な人々が集う場所であることから、植栽は歩くにつれて色彩の変化を感じられる構成とし、黄色の花や実のなる植栽を中心に表情が移り変わる風景を計画した。
オリジナルの行燈照明は、兜町の「兜」の文字から着想したパターンをシェードにデザインし、3Dプリンターで成形。末広がりの願いを込めた八角形の照明は、コトはじめの街・金融の街として知られる縁起の良い兜町のニュースタンダードを目指した。

Yellow public spaces spreading through Kabutocho
Nihonbashi Kabutocho, Japan’s financial district. As this area undergoes redevelopment into a sophisticated urban space, we proposed an open public space where anyone can spend time freely. Envisioning a new Kabutocho landscape born from people storing, sharing, and exchanging energy, we designed it under the concept “Stock Share Scape.”
Evoking the charm of an alleyway that invites spontaneous stops, we enlivened the street with vibrant accent yellow. By installing adaptable benches and side tables that prompt users to take a single action, we fostered familiarity and created a space where the scenery constantly evolves.
We proposed the name “ki-ten,” designed the logo, and produced the entire space.
Since it’s a place where diverse people gather, like cafes and galleries, the planting scheme was designed to reveal shifting colors as one walks through. We planned a landscape with changing expressions, centered around plants bearing yellow flowers and fruits.
The original lantern lighting features a pattern inspired by the character “兜” (kabuto, meaning “helmet”) from Kabutocho, which is designed onto the shade and 3D-printed. The octagonal lighting, embodying the wish for prosperity, aims to become the new standard for Kabutocho, known as the auspicious “city of beginnings” and “financial district.”
