岐阜県揖斐川町の病院の駐車場跡地に計画した住宅。敷地は1,400m²と広大で、背後には田んぼと谷汲の山が広がっている。
アスファルトの撤去やその後の舗装にかかる費用を考慮して、既存の駐車場のアスファルトをランドスケープとして捉え、アスファルトに馴染む造園をしつつ、背後の山並みに馴染むように片流れのワンボリュームの住宅を配置した。ボリュームはできる限り奥行きを薄く計画することで、南側の広大なアスファルトのランドスケープと北側の風景の間で生活することを強く意識することができるのではないかと考えた。
大きな片流れのボリュームの中央には吹き抜けを設け、大きな影を空間につくり出した。大きな影により、北側の壮大な景観は明るく浮かび上がる。吹き抜けに設けた合板と間柱を合成した大きな梁により、内部の無柱空間を実現し北側の景観を切り取ることと内部の開放感を実現している。（武藤圭太郎）
A residence that embraces two contrasting landscapes with a thinly stretched posture
A residential project is planned for the site of a former hospital parking lot in Ibigawa Town, Gifu Prefecture.
The site spans 1,400 square meters and is surrounded by rice fields and the mountains of Tanigumi.
Considering the costs associated with removing the asphalt and subsequent paving, the existing parking lot’s asphalt was reimagined as part of the landscape. The landscaping was designed to blend seamlessly with the asphalt, while the single-volume, single-slope residence was positioned to harmonize with the mountain range in the background. By planning the volume with as little depth as possible, the design aims to strongly emphasize the contrast between the expansive asphalt landscape to the south and the scenic views to the north.
A large atrium was created at the center of the single-sloped volume, casting a large shadow over the space. The large shadow highlights the majestic northern landscape, making it appear bright and prominent. The large beam, composed of plywood and columns installed in the atrium, achieves a column-free interior space while framing the northern landscape and enhancing the sense of openness within the house.
