中国の武漢市に位置する〈メリーダ・ウィキワールド・シークレットキャンプ（Merryda Wiki World-Secret Camp）〉は、渡り鳥が生息するメタセコイアの森にの中に十数棟のキャビンがたたずむ森林リトリートです。

ユニークな木造キャビンを数多く手掛ける中国の設計事務所 ウィキワールド（Wiki World）が設計しました。

渡り鳥と共に暮らす森林リトリート

〈メリーダ・ウィキワールド・シークレットキャンプ〉は、ユナイテッド・インベストメント・メリーダ・ホテル・マネジメント・グループ（United Investment Merryda Hotel Management Group）とウィキワールドが共同で創出した森林リトリートキャンプである。

武漢市東湖区慈恵街に位置し、渡り鳥が生息するメタセコイアの森の中に十数棟のキャビンがひっそりと佇む。

それはまるで魔法のような空間であり、各キャビンは鳥たち自身から進化したかのような姿を有する。木々の梢に止まる鳥たちの良き友として存在し、訪れる人々は日常の中で鳥とさえずり合いながら、共に時間を過ごすことができる。

本プロジェクトは「ウィキ・ビルディングスクール」による自然共創イニシアチブの一環であり、私たちのチームが生活空間の多様性を探求する新たな試みでもある。

自然と共に生きる、森と調和するキャビン

敷地は渡り鳥が棲むメタセコイアの森である。デザインの着想は、地元の鳥、種子、植物、そして鳥の卵から得られている。キャビンは人間の思い込みによる自然への侵入ではなく、自然そのものと完全に溶け合う存在となることを目指した。

その発想のもと、渡り鳥が小屋へと変容する姿が想像され、「タイムマシン」「ノマディックランド」「プレイグラウンド」「デイドリーマー」「レッドマインドミル」「ユニコーン」という個性豊かな6種のキャビンが誕生した。

ウィキワールドは常に自然への最大限の敬意をもって設計を行う。敷地内の樹木は一本残らず保護され、キャビンは完全に高架化されたプレファブリケーション木造構造で建設された。地面は固めず、人工的な造園も施されていないため、メタセコイアの森の原生的な生態系が最大限に保全されている。

このシークレットキャンプでは、人々は再び自然の一部となる。ここでは旅の驚異を伝える「鳥からの手紙」を受け取り、羽をもつ友のために企画された展示「鳥類の進化」に参加し、これら神秘的な生き物の奇跡的な進化を学ぶ。また、DIYで巣箱を制作し、来春に旅人たちが戻ってくるのを心待ちにする体験もできる。

インスピレーションを掻き立てる建築群

訪れる者は、心の赴くままに腰を落ち着けることができる。ウィキワールドは常に「野生の住まい」の無限の可能性を探求してきた。子どもたちの想像力が尽きることのないインスピレーションを与え、自然に回帰するすべての人々がここで自らの物語を見出せるよう設計されている。

「ノマディックランド」は夢からもち帰った設計図である。夢幻の世界が正方形の区画に凝縮され、出口のない静寂の領域を形成している。

「タイムマシン」は森の縁に佇む銀色の機械であり、まるで謎の人物がそっと置いたかのようである。ドラえもんの「どこでもドア」のように輝き、内部に入ればどこへ旅立つのか、想像力をかき立てる。

「プレイグラウンド」は幼少期の幻想から生まれた。大人たちが帰宅する中で、遊び場に置き去りにされたいという無垢な願いをかたちにしたものである。小さな遊具があれば十分で、1人でブランコに乗り、登ったり降りたりし、星を眺め、疲れたら大木の下で眠る。頭上の鳥たちに「おやすみ」と囁く夜、遊び場は我が家となる。

「デイドリーマー」は鏡面金属で包まれたツリーハウスである。森全体をシュールな反射の万華鏡へと変え、日光が表面で跳ね返り、現実と幻想の境界を曖昧にする。鳥たちと共に高みに眠る、夢を誘う空間である。

「レッドマインドミル」は森の舞姫であり、純粋無垢な赤を纏う。深紅の空間は木々の間の劇場のようで、メタセコイアやヤシの木が風に揺れ、優雅に舞う演者となる。

「ユニコーン」は森の幻獣を思わせる。銀の鎧を纏い、その高台は天を衝く角のように聳え立つ。

自然の中で共創する学びと芸術の森

〈メリーダ・ウィキワールド・シークレットキャンプ〉は、オープンな森林アートギャラリーであり、同時に自然学校でもある。展示や空間インスタレーションが森の各所に点在し、訪問者と協働して多様なテーマを探求している。年間を通じて風変わりなアートフェスティバルが開催され、環境に優しい方法で自然への賛辞を捧げている。

また「フォレストレセプション」と呼ばれるスペースも設けられており、自然から得た奇想天外なアイデアを天然素材でかたちにする場所となっている。ここで生まれる創造的な文化製品には、鳥型の目覚まし時計、卵型のテーブル、種カード、ミニ樹木バッグなどがある。

さらに定期的に「ウィキ・ビルディングスクール」中仏建築祭を開催し、自然を愛する大人と子どもを招き、自然の懐で住まいのかたちを探求し続けている。

小さく建てて大きな夢見るウィキワールド

ウィキワールドは、自然な建築を通じた自然回帰を理念としている。〈メリーダ・ウィキワールド・シークレットキャンプ〉は、そうした「野生の家」の実験を継続するものであり、思考の慣性を超えて、生活行動と環境の関係性に焦点を当てる。

その空間の答えは日常的な体験から遠く離れ、やや偏執的であるともいえる。キャビンは住空間を極限まで狭め、「小さい」という感覚が素材との距離を縮め、感覚を研ぎ澄ます。森の中にいるならば、1日中裸足で過ごし、テラスで枯葉を踏み砕く音に耳を傾ける、そんな生活の感性を取り戻す試みである。

自然に築く、プレファブリケーション木造による軽やかな構築

それぞれの建物には集成材構造を採用し、各カスタム形状の部材や接合部はデジタル設計と特注加工により、100％プレファブリケーション組立を実現している。住まいに標準解答は存在せず、誰もが自らの生活観を反映させたいと願うことから、「幅2mの家」というコンセプトが生まれた。

ウィキワールドは自然な建築の理念を一貫して貫く。敷地内の樹木や竹を一本も伐採せず、原生林と小道の風合いを保持した。独自開発のプレファブリケーション木造システムを用いてすべての住居は地上に浮かんでおり、チームとユーザーが協働して建設した。

自然な建築はまるでレゴブロックのように組み立てることができる。小さなキャビンが積み木のように森に配置され、炭化木材の板は手作業で焼成されるという、原初的な木造建築技術が用いられている。キャビンは繰り返し組み立て可能な小さな金属部品で接続されている。

私たちは、キャビンと自然環境との間に精密な関係を築こうとしている。各木造キャビンは地面から浮かび、壁や人工的な景観は一切設けられていない。自然こそが、最高のパッケージなのである。

Merryda Wiki World-Secret Camp-[Wild Home #134-145#]

“Merryda Wiki World • Secret Camp” is a forest retreat camp created by United Investment Merryda Hotel Management Group in collaboration with Wiki World. Located on Cihui Street in Dongxihu District, Wuhan, this project is set within a metasequoia forest inhabited by migratory birds, where over a dozen treehouses are discreetly nestled. It is a magical project—each treehouse seems to have evolved from the birds themselves, each one a friend to the birds perched among the treetops. On ordinary days, you can come here to chirp and chatter along with the birds, keeping them company. This project is also part of the “Wiki Building School” co-building with nature initiative, representing another attempt by our team to explore the diversity of living spaces.

1, Live with Nature

This is a metasequoia forest inhabited by migratory birds. The design inspiration comes from local birds, seeds, plants, and bird eggs. We hope that the treehouses are not an intrusion upon nature driven by human wishful thinking but can fully become a part of the natural world. Therefore, we imagined that the migratory birds transformed into cabins, each with its own unique story and texture: Time Machine, Nomadic land, Playground, Daydreamer, Red Mindmill, and Unicorn.

As always, Wiki World maintains the utmost respect for nature. The project preserved every tree on the site, and the treehouses are constructed using fully elevated prefabricated wooden structures. The ground remains unhardened and free from artificial landscaping, ensuring the original ecological state of the metasequoia forest is preserved to the greatest extent.

In “Wiki Secrets,” we become part of nature once again: here, you will receive “Letters from Birds,” which tell you about the wonders of travel; here, you will participate in the exhibition “Evolution of Birds,” curated for our feathered friends, and learn about the miraculous evolution of these magical creatures; here, you can DIY your own birdhouse, eagerly awaiting the return of travelers next spring.

2, Cabins of Birds

If you wish, you may settle comfortably wherever your heart desires. It has always been the aspiration of Wiki World to explore the countless possibilities of wilderness homes. The imaginations of children have gifted us with endless inspiration, allowing every friend returning to nature to discover their own story here.

“Nomadic Land” is a blueprint brought back from a dream, a dreamlike realm miniaturized into a square plot—a tranquil domain with no exit.

“Time Machine” is a silver time machine at the edge of the forest, as if gently placed there by a mysterious figure. It gleams like Doraemon’s Anywhere Door, sparking curiosity about where one might travel upon entering.

“Playground” stems from childhood fantasies—the wish to be forgotten by the adults returning home, left behind in a playground. A small one would suffice, where one can swing alone, climb up and down, gaze at the stars, and sleep under a big tree when tired, whispering “goodnight” to the birds perched above. Tonight, the playground becomes home.

“Daydream” is a treehouse wrapped in mirrored metal, transforming the forest into a kaleidoscope of surreal reflections. In this private woodland, sunlight bounces off surfaces, blurring the lines between reality and illusion. This is a treehouse that encourages dreaming, where you can sleep up high among the birds.

“Red Windmill” is the dancer of the forest, clad in pure, unadulterated red. The crimson space feels like a theater amidst the trees, with metasequoias and palm trees as performers swaying gracefully in the wind.

“The Unicorn” resembles a mythical creature of the forest, draped in silver armor, its loft rising like a horn pointing skyward.

3, Create Together In Nature

“Wiki Secrets” is also an open forest art gallery and nature school. Exhibitions and spatial installations are scattered throughout the woods, where we regularly collaborate with users to explore interesting topics. Throughout the year, quirky art festivals are held, paying tribute to nature in eco-friendly ways.

Here, we have also built the “Forest Reception,” a space where whimsical ideas inspired by nature are brought to life through natural materials. Creative cultural products include bird-shaped alarm clocks, egg-shaped tables, seed cards, and mini “tree” bags. Additionally, we periodically host the “Wiki Building School” Sino-French Construction Festival, inviting nature-loving adults and children to continue exploring the forms of home in the heart of nature.

4, Wiki World-Build Small, Dream Big

Wiki World has been committed to returning to natural life through natural construction. The cabin of sails continues such a natural wild house experiment, jumping out of the inertia of the size of the thinking, focusing on the relationship between living behaviour and environment, the answer of space must be far from the daily living experience, even a little paranoid. The cabin makes home supper narrow, ‘Small’ brings us closer to the material, so we are more sensitive. Now that we are in the forest, let’s go barefoot for a day and listen to the sound of dead leaves being crushed on the terrace.

5, Build Naturally

The entire building adopts a glued timber structure, with each custom-shaped component and joint digitally designed and customized, achieving 100% prefabricated assembly. When it comes to living spaces, there is certainly no standard answer—everyone hopes their dwelling can reflect their own understanding of life, hence the concept of a “2-meter-wide home” was born.

Wiki World continues its longstanding philosophy of natural construction. We preserved every tree and bamboo on the site, maintaining the original woodland and path textures. The houses are entirely elevated above the ground, and all structures are independently developed prefabricated timber systems, built collaboratively by the team and the users.

Natural buildings can be built like Lego. Little cabins, like building blocks, were placed in the forest. We stick to the original wild wood construction technique that we hand fired the façade of the carbonized wood boards. The cabins are all connected by small metal components that can be repeatedly assembled.

We try to create a precise relationship between the cabins and the environment in the nature. Each wooden cabin is elevated above the ground, and no walls or artificial landscapes are used. Nature is the best package.
